Mini is a luxury sub-compact automobile manufacturer known for its incredibly fun driving experience and innovative design that maximizes space and comfort in a very small “mini” package. Originally a British company, the Mini was released in 1959 and was completely different from any other car of its time. It was front-wheel drive with a transverse engine making it an excellent handling car with much more interior space than other vehicles because there is no driveshaft or “hump” down the middle of the car. The Mini Cooper and Cooper S were designed so well that it stayed in production virtually unchanged for 61 years! In 2000, BMW purchased the company and designed a whole new vehicle that stayed true to the original roots but was completely modernized. The new Mini was just as fun to drive as the original but was much more powerful, safe, and packed with more features than the original. The current model is very posh and upscale, making it the most stylish and sophisticated sub-compact car on the market.
