I just moved 2,000 miles to Ferndale. First order of business? Find a trusted place that does good, honest work on VWs at a reasonable price. Think I just found it. I didn’t need any major repairs, just an oil change and a tire rotation. The people were nice. They gave me an estimate, took my car and I headed to lunch. About an hour later, they called and told me my car was ready but they didn’t rotate my tires. Wha? Turns out, I didn’t need it. That was cool. Easy, affordable, friendly, clean and honest. Both the office manager and one of the mechanics saved me at least $90.00 when I brought my Jetta in. They told me what the problem was, audio related, with out even having to look at it. They actually wanted to save me money! That was incredibly awesome! Sure enough, that is what the problem was. We found Autohaus via a websearch when faced with an unusual problem with our 2000 VW Golf that many said only a dealer could fix, and later our choice was validated by VW afficionados. Communication was excellent from the start. Our car was towed, the first problem (broken hood release) was fixed within minutes, and a myriad of others was fixed only with our go-ahead with a mix of used and decently-priced new parts. There was no pressure, and we don’t believe new things mysteriously went awry that suddenly required fixing as happens so often once the car goes to the shop.
